Elena Adam was born in Sumgait, Azerbaijan, near the shores of the Kaspian Sea. She graduated from Moscow State University with a degree in journalism, then worked on various newspapers and magazines as an editor, art editor, and writer. After moving to the United States in 2001, Elena decided to follow her dream of becoming a fine artist. She works in colored pencils, watercolors, oils, acrylics, and mixed media, and also illustrates children’s books. Elena is a member of Artists’ Society of Dearborn, Michigan, The Detroit Society of Women Painters and Sculptors, and Colored Pencil Society of America. She lives and works in Dearborn Heights, Michigan with her husband and two Scottish Terriers.
